MONOLITH TOYS FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

Q: How do I order?

A: Use the Online Order Form or simply send payment with a hand written list of items.

Q: Are these the same Kenner Star Wars toys from when the movies came out?

A: Yes, but I am selling the new figures and vehicles now also. New items are clearly marked as such in my list.

Q: Why do these toys cost so much?

A: 95% of what we are selling is on the secondary market which means that we do not buy wholesale.  The general rule is for a dealer to pay from 1/3 to 1/2 of the price they intend to sell it for. We buy from people who have decided to (for one reason or another) sell their collections, so our prices are directly affected by how much we end up paying for those items. You may be able to find certain items at a lower price by checking with other sources.

Q: What price guide do you use to determine prices?

A:  Most dealers do not use price guides at all unless they are unfamiliar with items they are selling. Guide prices are based on what the publishers think dealers should be charging. The best one I've seen is Tomart's Price Guide To World-Wide Star Wars Collectibles. Prices are mainly based on supply and demand. Because the supply of older or more rare items varies from dealer to dealer, you will find that prices also vary from dealer to dealer on different items. I can offer the best price on some items, but not on others. Newer items that are not limited by the manufacturer have a more standardized price.

Q: Are CNP (Complete No Package) figures in mint condition?

A: Whenever possible I try to sell loose figures in the same condition as they were in when taken out of the package. Because most of these toys were played with or displayed there may be minor imperfections. INP (Incomplete No Package) figures tend to have some minor wear. As always, if you are not satisfied with anything, we have a 2 week return policy.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?

A: Right now we are accepting checks and money orders only. The cost of setting up for a credit card account is prohibitive for a small business. I would also be forced to charge up to 15% extra to cover the processing charge.

Q: The vintage dark robot bounty hunter figure is listed as Zuckuss. Shouldn't it be 4-LOM ?

A: Kenner released this figure under the name of Zuckuss and the tan "bug faced" bounty hunter as 4-LOM. Although the names have been switched in the new release of action figures, the original names should be used when describing the vintage figures (see vintage figure photo).

Q: Why the name "Monolith Toys"?

A: It's a long story, but it is derived from some movies I made in my youth and an homage to the mysterious monolith from the sci-fi movie "2001".

I will continue to add common questions to this list in the future. Feel free to send any other questions by E-Mail.
